Kendriya Vidyalaya to be opened at Kollegal

 MP R Dhruvanarayan said preparations are on to open a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the current academic year in the district and the works are in progress to renovate a building belonging to department of sericulture.

Speaking to mediapersons at a press conference in Chamarajanagar on Friday, Dhruvanarayan said the school would function temporarily at the building of sericulture department until the new building is constructed.

A central team which visited the district has given permission and in all Rs 33 lakh will be sanctioned for the renovation of the building which includes Rs 20 lakh from MPLAD fund and Rs 13 lakh from MLA fund.

He clarified that rail route between Bangalore-Kanakapura-Chamarajanagar will become a reality soon and there is no doubt as it has been approved in the previous railway budget. Tender process are also in progress. Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda too has approved to provide the necessary funds from the state government.

The Centre has also released funds for the development of NH 209. Around 186 km stretch of road that connects Bangalore and Dindigul has been sanctioned Rs 700 crore.
Bypass roads will be constructed in Kollegal, Yalandur and district centres and a 75 km stretch of road will be laid, he explained.

The district having a number of tourism spots like Hogenakkal, Gaganachukki, Bharachukki and others, stress will be given on development of tourism industry, he added.
